"an idea, event or action that is done to better humanity"
Our national philanthropies, supported by both collegiate and alumnae chapters, are speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle camp. Through Delta Zeta’s philanthropy of speech and hearing, Delta Zeta has national partnerships with The Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Gallaudet University. Chapters also support other local and national speech and hearing organizations as well as various other causes. All of these important programs provide additional volunteer and giving opportunities for collegiate and alumnae members. The Painted Turtle’s mission is to provide a year round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses.
As well as donating to our national philanthropy, Epsilon Epsilon has also donated time and money to numerous local charities in the Fresno area. Our chapter women volunteer their time at The Marjaree Mason Center, Central California SPCA, Adaptive Sports and so much more! As a sorority we take part in fraternity and sorority philanthropy events on campus by donating our time, money or participation for their cause.
Fresno State Delta Zeta had two new events this year! From holding our 1st Annual Hike for Hearing, our DZHOP all you can eat pancakes, our first annual Hamburgers for Hearing, and the 26th annual Rose bowl flag football tournament we raised $8570 for the Starkey Hearing Foundation! Also, our sisters together have completed almost 2,000 community service hours during the 2016-2017 school year!
